The Jade Experience
Our passion here at Jade is creating a safe and healthier approach for clients’ hair care needs as well as everyone’s health and well- being. After experiencing a personal challenge related to health and chemicals, Jade’s owner decided that all people are entitled to a healthier option for hair color and this is how Jade was created. As a result, we do not use conventional permanent hair color because it contains toxins including Ammonia, Parabens, Formaldehyde, and Resorcinol. These ingredients are toxic to the body creating lasting negative effects including endocrine disruption, reproductive disruption, and skin hypersensitivity; while also diminishing the respiratory and endocrine systems of the industry professionals. We carry only the best organic and natural products and limit caustic chemical usage. We care about your health, well-being, and the integrity of your hair and provide a more natural, gentle, and effective way to color and treat your hair.
Our Range
We are proud to feature the industry's #1 certified organic permanent hair color system, Organic Color Systems, to create beautiful natural tones and exciting fashion colors. Our organic products allows our stylists to unleash their creativity while redefining your inner and outer beauty; without compromising the integrity of our craft, our clients' health, the environment, or our planet! All of our artists are Certified Organic Colorist through Organic Color Systems, and all of our hair color and hair products are 100% Ammonia, Resorcinol, Formaldehyde, and paraben free.
Our Green Initiatives
At Jade Organic Salon we put our words into action through our care for the environment.
Ways we do that include:
- LED Lighting
- Wind Powered Energy Provider through PECO
- Non-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints
- Recycle foils, glass, paper and plastic bottles
- Energy Star appliances
- Reclaimed wood table
- China cups and glassware (no disposables)
-Plants recommended by NASA for high oxygen exchange and removing toxins
Pregnant & Nursing Mothers
We recommend waiting to dye your hair until after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, when the risk of chemical substances harming the baby is much lower. We leave the color on for the minimum time as well as making sure all areas are well ventilated. Using "Off the scalp" techniques for lightening is also a way to make dying safer. Sensitivity tests will be required for all pregnant/nursing clients. It is very unlikely chemicals will be passed along through breast milk. Wait 4 weeks to dye after giving birth, and always start with a semi permanent dye, using the "Off the scalp" method.
